CNBC personal finance correspondent Sharon Epperson presents deals you can land on certain days of the week, explaining that you can find discounted kids’ meals in restaurants and plane tickets on Tuesdays.

Timing is everything! This is a real science.  Major retailers know when people get their paychecks and position items in the stores accordingly. So which day is best to buy what?

Here are some guidelines on when the experts say the best days to buy in the following categories by day.

Monday is the best to buy – Cars and Electronics, but pay attention to rebates and discounts. Cars look when the rebates or bonus days are.  The same is true for electronics.

Tuesday historically has been the best day to buy Airline tickets but that may be changing…more about that in a minutes.  Tuesday is a great day to take your Kids to Eat for Free, you can go to websites like www.kidseatforfree.com, put in your zip code and figure out what’s available in your area.
Plus Tuesday is a good day to buy Movie Tickets.

Wednesday is a good day to buy groceries because that’s when you get those ads in the newspaper or see them on line on for groceries. Also, Jewelry some sites that track on-line retailers like: www.shopittome.com say you can get a great discount on jewelry on that day.

Thursday – Clothes (varies depending on the type of clothing you wear).  And handbags up to 50% off on that day.

Friday – Gasoline.  Now gas is down in price in general right now, but still Friday is a great day to fill up.  The lowest prices are over a weekend.

Saturday – Discounts at department stores. Department Stores bring down prices on Saturday to bring you into a store because they are competing with your free time.

Sunday – Airline Tickets you can save somewhere between 10%-30% LESS depending on weather it’s a domestic or international airline ticket.
